Overview | With AirTag, you'll never have to look for your stuff again. Attach one to your keys and put another in your bag. They automatically appear on the map in the "Find My" app. Searching? Defitinely a thing of the past! No stress: you have an AirTag! Forgot where your wallet is? No problem if there's an AirTag attached. You can play a sound on the built-in speaker. Go to the new Items tab in the "Find My" app or say "Hey, Siri. Find my wallet." If it's somewhere nearby, such as under the couch or in the room next to you, all you have to do is rely on the sound. Search = find. If your AirTag is nearby, your iPhone can take you directly to it with "Precise Search. Thanks to the built-in Ultra Wideband technology, you can see exactly which direction to go and how far. Let your Apple friends help. If you left something in a completely different place, like the beach or the gym, you can track down your AirTag using the "Find My" network, which consists of hundreds of millions of iPhones, iPads and Macs around the world. Your privacy is protected on all fronts in the process. How it works. Your AirTag transmits a secure Bluetooth signal that can be picked up by devices in the "Find My" network. They send the location of your AirTag to iCloud. You then see where it is on the map in the "Find My" app. This whole process is anonymous and is encrypted to protect your privacy. It works very efficiently, so you don't have to worry about your battery life or data usage. Lost Mode. As with your other Apple devices, you can enable Lost Mode for AirTag. You will then be notified automatically as soon as the AirTag is detected by a device on the network. You can also set people to receive your contact information as soon as they tap your AirTag with an NFC-enabled smartphone. That's the same technology used to pay with your phone. Private is and remains private. You are the only one who can see where your AirTag is. Your location data and history are never stored on the AirTag itself. Devices that transmit the location of your AirTag also remain anonymous, and that location data is encrypted from start to finish. So not even Apple is aware of the location of your AirTag or the identity of the devices that help with the search. AirTag is designed to discourage unwanted tracking. If someone else's AirTag ends up among your stuff, your iPhone sees that you're taking it and notifies you. If you haven't found it after a while, the AirTag makes a sound. Do you happen to be with a friend who also has an AirTag, or are you on the train with a lot of people with an AirTag? No worries. You only get to see the notifications when the owner is no longer near the AirTag. |
